Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 3100 and Multi Groomer MG5750 Review

I have recently decided to grow a beard and proper beard care is critical to your gentlemen status.  After several weeks of research, I decided to go with the Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 3100 and Philips Norelco Multi Groomer MG5750.  Why?  The price fit perfectly in my budget and it will do the job perfectly.

I am all about sharing information so maybe my research and experience will be of use for you.

My minimalist lifestyle doesn’t have me paying for features and stuff I don’t need or want.  What I do want is a quality and a shaver and trimmer that will last for at least 10 years.  I also require it to provide a great shave or trim.

Having used Philips Norelco for over 30 years and my experience with both of these products to date, I can tell you both perform really well and give me the impression I will get many years of service from them.

I am very happy I selected both of these and I know you will be too.

Why Philips Norelco?

Phillips Norelco is another long standing name in men’s Shavers.  I have been using them for over 35 years and they have never let me down.  Over this time, I have maybe replaced my shavers once every 10 years or so.  The quality is outstanding and so is the shave.

This Dutch company was originally created in Eindhoven in 1891, by Gerard Philips and Frederik Philips. Today, their headquarters are located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Their company slogan is “Innovation and You”. Their electric shaver brand evolved into cordless shavers that are rechargeable, as well as SmartClean systems that make cleaning up easier.

By 1939, they introduced the Philishave, their first electric razor. In the USA, this brand was marketed as the Norelco.

Today, the two main production centers for producing Philips shavers are located in Drachten, Netherlands, and Zhuhai, China. Besides personal shavers, lighting, and medical products, they have a line of small appliances, and televisions, and other home electronics.

In my opinion, Philips Norelco is probably the best shaver money can buy.

Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 3100

The 3100 will provide a great shave without the irritation that can be present with other electric shavers. The comfort cut heads have rounded edges that move along the skin smoothly for a super comfortable shave that is super close.

The very convenient and integrated popup trimmer will shave your side burns and mustaches easily and the lithium-ion battery that gives you 40 minutes of cordless shaving which is plenty of time to get a full shave done.

A full charge is 8 hours but if you need a quick shave, just plug it in and you can continue shaving with full power.  This is important for me.  I tend to let my razor go a very long time between charges and when the battery runs down, it tends to pull the hair instead of cut them.  When this happens, I just plug it in and I can continue shaving.

Clean up is easy with this great electric shaver. Just rinse under the faucet and let dry.

You get a 45 day risk free trial with the Philips Norelco 3100 and a 2 year warranty. You should replace the HQ8 replacement heads about every 12 months to keep everything in excellent, tiptop shape.  The heads can last much longer then the MFG recommended 12 months and I have been knows to let them go for years at a time.

Philips Norelco Multi Groomer MG5750

This multi-groom 5000 device boasts a ton of features while giving a ton of advantages.

Philips Norelco 5000 really delivers with sharp, long-lasting blades, a strong motor, sturdy build, and a complete set of attachments for your entire body, this product can get the job done without any problems.

The secret is in the self-sharpening steel blades, which gently cut each hair with precision minus the irritation. Leveraging the company’s DualCut technology, this clipper has 2x more cutting power than other traditional models.  It has a full-metal motor providing more power and torque and a ton of attachments compared to the 3000 series.

Not only is this one of the top clippers for pubes, but men will be able to trim their beard, stubble, ear and nose hair with the additional heads and combs. And cleaning is as simple as detaching the blades or guards and rinsing under water, maintaining its high-quality performance without any blade oil.

Finally, with 180 minutes of cordless use from a lithium-ion battery, a quick charge feature and a 2-year warranty, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 5000 is ideal for guys desiring a body groomer that can literally do it all. Whether you need to trim your groin or shape up your beard, this machine’s combination of value and performance make it an easy, affordable choice.

  • Self-sharpening blades
  • Make good use of this device and the 18 attachments included. You’ll be able to use this on the go or in your home with its cordless and corded capabilities.

Pros

  • Make the most out of your device by using one that offers self-sharpening capabilities.
